SINGAPORE, September 6, 2017 – AMRO Advisory Panel (AP) members convened today to review and discuss AMRO’s surveillance work on the regional economy and its analytical study, which address timely issues for the region.

Specifically, AMRO presented on the recent developments and challenges in the ASEAN+3 regional economy and sought the AP’s advice on the thematic study for its annual flagship report, the ASEAN+3 Regional Economic Outlook (AREO), for 2018. AMRO also benefited from a fruitful discussion on the findings of its annual consultation visits to Cambodia, China, Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore, in the past few months.

Chaired by Dr Akira Ariyoshi (AP Chair), the meeting was participated by Dr Bandid Nijathaworn, Dr Maria Socorro Gochoco-Bautista, Professor Kyung-Wook Hur, Dr Mohamad Ikhsan, and Dr Feng Lu. AMRO Director Dr Junhong Chang, Chief Economist Dr Hoe Ee Khor, and Deputy Director Mr Yasuto Watanabe also attended the meeting.
